In the modern iron and steel industry, ladle as one of the important equipment, the choice of refractory material is directly related to the safety and efficiency of steel production.

Properties of refractory materials

1. High refractoriness: It can withstand the high temperature environment in the ladle to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.

2. Good slag resistance: resist the erosion of steel slag, prevent steel water pollution, and extend the service life of equipment.

3. Excellent thermal shock resistance: withstand rapid changes in temperature without damage, maintain good stability.

4. Good wear resistance: resistance to molten steel and slag flow erosion wear, to ensure the integrity of the ladle lining.

Application of Refractory Materials in Ladle

1. Ladle lining: The ladle lining is built or poured with refractory materials to form a protective layer to prevent direct contact between the molten steel and the ladle body and ensure the purity of the molten steel.

2. tapping trough: tapping trough is the key part of molten steel flowing out from the ladle, which needs to be built with high alumina or magnesia refractory materials to ensure the smooth and safe tapping process.

3. Slag line position: Slag line position is easy to be eroded by steel slag and needs to be protected by refractory materials with excellent slag resistance.

4. Ladle covers and accessories: Ladle covers and accessories also need to be protected with refractory materials to extend their service life.
