  LANXESS will launch two Durethan polyamide series thermal stabilization systems at K 2013, namely XTS1 and XTS2 (Xtreme Temperature Stabilization, extreme high temperature stability). Its main feature is to increase the continuous use temperature of these high-performance thermoplastics by more than 60°C. The first XTS1 material grade is polyamide 6 Durethan BKV 30XTS1, which has a long-term working temperature of up to 200°C. Possible applications of the material in engine compartments include air ducts, intake ducts, and other body accessories that are subject to high thermal stress. The long-term working temperature of XTS2 series products is even as high as 230℃. The material grades of the XTS2 series are in the advanced development stage. They are designed to be used in high-tech applications in the engine room at abnormal temperatures, and are used to replace high-cost thermally stable special thermoplastics, such as fully aromatic and semi-aromatic polyamides and polyphenylene sulfide, etc., and both series have excellent Processing performance.

  In addition, Solvay Specialty Polymers America Co., Ltd. has also expanded the Amodel polypeptide amide resin (PPA) product line for automotive engine parts. This new type of high temperature (HH) grade Amodel PPA can extend the service life of components in high temperature environments. The new high temperature resistant material has excellent chemical resistance and fast crystallization speed. Compared with other PPA materials and PPS materials, it can save 10% processing time.
